Shingle roofs offer the most versatility and the lowest cost.
We do Standing Seam Metal Roofing as well as Thru Fastened Panels, sometimes known as Raised Rib metal.
We install Flat EPDM roofs and composite roofing.
Shingle roofs offer the most versatility at the lowest cost. They are the easiest to install and will last for many years. We use a shingle that is Algae Resistant and has a Lifetime Warranty.
We use a synthetic underlayment that is waterproof and tear resistant to go under your shingle. A synthetic underlayment gives a second layer of protection for your home and helps the shingle last longer. It is also much tougher than the old felt underlayment and will not damage as easily as felt when working on the roof.
Ice and water shield is something that we use on roofs that have a very low pitch. We also use it in the valley's to protect from ice dams and torrential rains. It is a rubberized membrane that offers the best protection from leaks. When a nail is driven through Ice and Water Shield, the membrane creates a watertight seal around the nail.
We use a shingle over ridge vent on most newer homes to increase ventilation in the attic and keep it cooler in the summer to reduce your energy bills.
Premium shingles usually require some extra steps to install according to the manufacturer's installation instructions. If your roofing company fails to follow the manufacturer's instructions it could void your warranty. We are a certified and trained installer with Certainteed and GAF brand shingles. We are also a licensed NC General Contractor. Very few roofing companies can say that.
We install metal thru fastened and standing seam panels.
A thru fastened metal roof panel is sometimes known as a raised rib panel. The panel is fastened to the roof by screwing through it into the roof deck. They are fairly easy to install, and the panels have a 40-year warranty. The drawbacks are that the screws can back out sometimes and the rubber washers on the screws can breakdown. Both situations can cause leaks to occur, so homeowners that install these must keep check on the screws to make sure that they are still watertight.
Standing Seam metal roofs can visually be one of the most attractive types of roofs. They have a hidden fastener system and unlike the Thru Fastened Metal Panels, a Standing Seam Roof does not rely on a rubber washer to keep the roof watertight. This makes it a more durable option in the long run. It takes longer to install a Standing Seam Metal Roof versus a Thru Fastened Metal Roof, so they are more expensive, but Standing Seam is the best option to protect your home over the long run.
EPDM is a great choice for North Carolina buildings. It is easy to install and lasts a long time when installed correctly. These are the black roofs you may have seen on flat roof buildings. Blue Sky Roofing is a certified EPDM installer.
TPO is usually white, but it can come in other colors as well. TPO is a good choice because the materials are cheaper than EPDM roofs.
We do commercial roof repairs. Please contact us for moe information.
Composite Roofing is probably the most durable type of roof installed today. It is slower to install, and the materials are more expensive, but in the long run you will save money because of the durability.
